Indian river terns (Sterna aurantia) preening. This species is found along inland rivers from Iran to the Indian Subcontinent to Thailand. It breeds in colonies in inaccessible areas such as sandbanks, and nests in a ground scrape, often on bare rock or sand. Photographed in India.
