A vintage movie poster of ''Foolish Wives'', a 1921 American silent drama film directed by and starring Erich von Stroheim. This film is known for its provocative and daring storytelling, as well as its exploration of themes related to deception, decadence, and moral corruption.
The story is set in Monte Carlo and revolves around Count Wladislaw Sergius Karamzin (played by Erich von Stroheim), a cunning and deceitful con artist who poses as a Russian aristocrat. Alongside his two female companions, the Count uses his charm and manipulation to swindle wealthy tourists. However, their intricate scheme becomes increasingly complex and morally compromising as they target a vulnerable American diplomat's wife, Helen Hughes (played by Miss DuPont).
