The film is based on the play of the same name by Maurine Dallas Watkins and features Phyllis Haver, Victor Varconi, and Virginia Bradford in key roles. Here's a brief description of the movie:
Plot:
"Chicago" is set in the Prohibition-era of the 1920s and takes place in the city of Chicago. The story revolves around Roxie Hart, portrayed by Phyllis Haver, a young and ambitious woman who aspires to become a famous jazz singer and is infatuated with the glamorous lifestyle of the city's nightlife.
When Roxie becomes entangled in a murder case, she hires the charismatic and unscrupulous lawyer Billy Flynn, played by Victor Varconi, to defend her.
